Guitar Accelerator
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Paul Davids Guitar Accelerator program work?
Every week you’ll meet via Zoom with your coach and cohort to go over the lesson for the week, ask questions, and get feedback. (You can watch the recording if you can’t make it live.) And you get daily access to all course lessons plus the private online community where you can ask questions between sessions, post videos, get feedback, and connect with your coach and fellow students.
How long is the program?
The Guitar Accelerator program runs for 10 weeks of active participation, after which you have lifetime access to all course materials.
What do I need for the program?
For the Guitar Accelerator program, you’ll need:
- An electric or acoustic guitar.
- A reliable internet connection for accessing video lessons, joining Zoom calls, and participating in the online community.
- A free Zoom account (we’ll walk you through it if you never used it before).
- A phone or webcam to record yourself playing to submit videos for feedback.
- Tuner and pick.
- Optional but recommended: An amplifier (if using an electric guitar).
What level of playing should I be at in order to participate?
The program is designed for intermediate players who already know how to play at least basic chords, scales, and barre chords. I expect a wide range of early intermediate, intermediate, and advanced intermediate players to take part, and will do my best to create cohort groups that work well together.
How much time should I plan to set aside for the program?
To get the most out of being in the program, plan to set aside at least 3–5 hours per week for course lessons, your weekly live call, and practicing guitar. And of course, you are welcome to practice as much as you like – the more time you dedicate to practicing, the more quickly you will build your guitar skillset and make progress toward your goals on guitar.
(Note: If you can’t make the live call, no problem. You can submit your questions beforehand and it will be recorded and you can watch it later, and you can reach out to your coach between sessions.)
What if I miss a weekly Zoom call?
Don’t worry if you miss a call – you’ll have access to the recordings so you can review them whenever it works for you.
Do I need to complete one of your other courses before joining this program?
No, not at all. The Guitar Accelerator program is designed to be suitable for intermediate guitarists, regardless of whether they’ve taken any of my online courses.
Will you be teaching live?
The program will incorporate step-by-step video lessons, taught by me, for you to access on your own schedule. (Many of these lessons will be taken from my intermediate course, Next Level Playing.) Additionally, experienced coaches (hand-picked by me!) will support you, give you individual feedback, and help you stay on track throughout the program. These coaches will lead the weekly live Zoom sessions for you and your cohort.
Do I have to understand a lot of music theory to get something out of this program?
No, a deep understanding of music theory isn’t necessary. The program is tailored for intermediate guitarists with various levels of theory knowledge, and will provide practical guidance and exercises to enhance your guitar skills in a musical way while also getting a deeper understanding of theory.
What if I’ve never picked up a guitar before?
The Guitar Accelerator is designed for intermediate guitarists, so it’s best suited for those who have some experience with basic chords, scales, and barre chords. If you’re a complete beginner, I suggest starting with my beginner course, Learn, Practice, Play, to build a solid foundation before joining this program.
What are the payment options?
My website will accept payment via major credit cards and PayPal. If you are having trouble at checkout, please contact my support team for assistance.
What if I want a refund?
Since this is a live program with limited spots, the course tuition is non-refundable. However, if you sign up and find that you can’t participate, please let me know. If another student is able to take your place prior to the start of the program, my team will happily refund your fee.
